Discover What Life Is Like in Nashville
We want you to get the most out of your tour of Dark Horse Institute and hope you’ll treat yourself to our historic and musically-inclined city—Music City USA! That’s why we’ve compiled this Nashville visitor’s guide for our out-of-town guests, noting local lodging and attractions while visiting the Nashville area.
We’ve also included a few sites below about our city—Franklin, TN. Franklin is the oldest city in the state of Tennessee (established in 1799), and located just 17 miles south of Nashville. Much of the Civil War was fought in Franklin and there are several sights, tours and antebellum homes to visit. Downtown Franklin is known for its quaint shops and unique dining venues. Just North of downtown Franklin is The Factory, where the Magic Chef oven manufacturer had its plant. It has been converted to an eclectic variety of antique shops, eateries and a weekend organic Farmer’s Market.
